One of the semi-benefits of the campaign season for the curious is the ability to peer into the private financial affairs of the top candidates, as they bow to the pressure to “voluntarily” disclose their income tax returns.
Newt has already posted copies of his 2010 tax returns on his website:
1040 for Newton & Callista Gingrich (46 page pdf)
990–PF for The Gingrich Foundation (21 page pdf)
According to the 1040 schedules, he also owns some other entities:
Gingrich Productions, Inc. – C corp that paid Callista $191,827 of W-2 wages during 2010.
Gingrich Holdings, Inc. – S corp that had a net K-1 profit of almost $2.5 million plus $252,500 of W-2 wages to Newt.
If Newt continues to do well in the race, I wouldn’t be surprised to see calls for him to reveal his corp tax returns as well.
Mitt Romney has promised to post his tax returns on Tuesday. I’ll post links to them as soon as possible.
